Yes friends… I have an irrational fear of growing older.  I don’t understand it, I don’t know where it stemmed from, I just know that the idea of turning 30 Blows. My.  Mind.  I’m trying to consider it a smack on the ass to get my butt in gear and really, and I mean REALLY, figure out where my life is going.  Friends and family have grown up, gotten married, had kids, traveled the world.  Me?  I still feel like I’m 22, call my mom for advice ALL the time, want to stay home and snuggle my dogs, but want to have a social life and drink like it’s my 21st birthday.  But oh dear, on that last part… no.  Just, no.  I am NOT 22 anymore and cannot drink like I used to; my body throws out a big, fat fuck you in rebellion when I try to and just stops working.  My body knows I’m not 22, but my head hasn’t quite caught up to that idea yet.

So what does any other rational adult do when they’re freaking out about their birthday coming up and doesn’t want to face the reality just quite yet?  Well we drink our fears away, duh.  But in the adult way by drinking Sangria because it’s fancy AF.

I don’t know where I came up with this idea, but I’ve recently become OBSESSED with coconut everything.  I think because it reminds me so much of summer and warm weather, even though that’s basically not what’s been happening ’round these parts here recently.  Seriously, it’s May and barely 50 degrees outside.  My SAD is not coping well so I’m gonna need Mother Nature to just figure her shit out and get on with my typical May weather.

Also, STOP FUCKING RAINING, KENTUCKY.  I need to adult and have my grass cut, damnit!

Okay, I’m done.  Make this crazy-ish down below and drink this cause I’m making it again tomorrow and I need some drinking buddies 🙂

Ingredients:
1 large pineapple, juices saved, cut into chunks
1 12oz bag of frozen mango
1 bottle of Riesling or Moscato
12oz of LaCroix coconut flavored water, or plain coconut water
1 1/3 cup of coconut vodka (I used Svedka; it had additional tropical juices)

Put your fruit into a large pitcher and pour wine, vodka and coconut water on top.  Add ice to cool or let sit in the fridge for a couple hours before serving.  The longer it sits and the fruit juices and alcohol meld, the better it tastes!
